Visit some of the locations where many episodes were filmed, see replicas of the Town Hall and Captain Mainwaring’s office and then relax in the beautiful gardens of Bressingham. – As there is just one date, IMMEDIATE confirmation is required. Dad’s Army Museum Thetford.
Arrive at the Dad’s Army Museum Thetford for morning refreshments
in the beautiful 1940s style Marigold Tea Rooms which opened in
2011 and is an essential part of any visit to the Museum. Enjoy a look
around this unique museum which is a touching tribute to the success
of the TV series ‘Dad’s Army’ and the location for some of the filming
from the series. Your guide will then take you for a gentle mini walking
tour around the pretty town of Thetford where many episodes were
filmed. See a statue of the beloved Captain Mainwaring as he sits
watching the river, as well as many of the other film locations used
in this family TV favourite.

Lunch at Bressingham Wyevale Garden Centre.
Enjoy a two course lunch with tea and coffee.
2.30pm
Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens.
A few steps away is the Bressingham Steam Museum which has been
the official home to the Dad’s Army Appreciation Society’s collection
since 2000. The exhibition comprises a recreation of ‘Walmington
on Sea’, the fictional home to Captain Mainwaring and his men.
Jones’ butchers shop and the church hall feature heavily in the scene,
whilst you can get a glimpse of Frazer’s Funeral Parlour and the
Swallow Bank. See the original Fire Engine used in the series.
3.30pm
Garden visit.
After your visit why not relax in the beautiful gardens of Bressingham
or visit the working steam railway (rides not included), a great way
to explore.
