Ideal for Corporate and Incentive groups before or after a conference or exhibition

Meet with your guide either at your hotel, Conference venue or another suitable point in Central Manchester and board the coach for your 4 hour afternoon excursion to Quarry Bank Mill in Styal. The Mill is one of the best preserved textile mills of the Industrial Revolution and is now a museum of the cotton industry and one of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites. During the journey out of Manchester, your guide will give you a brief overview of Manchester and its history.

Visit the Cotton Mill built in 1784, powered by Europe’s most powerful working waterwheel will certainly stimulate your senses. The clattering and whirring of our heritage machinery and steam engines make an astonishing noise. Explore the progression of the cotton industry from the mediaeval era through to the 19th century with knowledgeable demonstrators who are happy to talk to you as you walk round. During your visit you will be given a timed slot where you can take a guided tour of the Apprentice House which housed the pauper children who worked in the Mill and learn about their tough working and home lives.

You will be able to visit the stunning riverside gardens and the mill owner’s picturesque valley retreat with seasonal displays. Explore the terraced path, riverside walk and Hermit’s caves. After a memorable afternoon being amazed by the sights, sound and history, it is time to board your coach back to your hotel, conference venue or central point with your tour guide on hand to give you a brief tour of the area as you make your way back to Manchester.

This tour can be tailored to your exact requirements, and can be combined with other services such as hotel accommodation, airport transfers, meals etc.
