Day 1
Depart the UK.
Travel to Ireland by ferry and check into your hotel. Once you are refreshed, enjoy a Sunday entertainment session in the hotel themed by local Wexford produce, including live entertainment.
Day 2
Waterford City and Waterford Crystal.*
Today, visit Waterford, Ireland’s Crystal County. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Waterford and be sure to visit the Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre, home of the world’s most famous crystal. Later on, the Seanachi Folk Band will entertain you in the hotel as part of a Guinness themed evening!
Day 3
Wicklow, Glendalough and Avoca.
County Wicklow is known as the ‘Garden of Ireland’. Nestled amongst the lush rolling hills are pretty little glens, cascading waterfalls, glassy lakes and intimate villages. See Glendalough, gateway to ‘The Valley of the Two Lakes’. Avoca is a typical Irish village where the popular BBC series Ballykissangel was filmed. Also see the Meeting of the Waters and visit Avoca Handweavers (entrance fee not included). The hotel entertainment this evening is themed around the famous Jameson whisky. The Whiskey in a Jar band will have you tapping your toes to some fantastic traditional Irish Music! This will be followed on by the ever popular Celtic Roots Show.
Day 4
Kilkenny and Dunbrody Famine Ship*.
Today, we will visit the town of New Cross and visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic replica of the 19th century famine ship. Afterwards travel to Kilkenny, visit St. Canice’s Cathedral, the imposing Butler Castle and the Kilkenny Design Centre (entrance fees not included). If time permits enjoy a lazy afternoon browsing the local shops for some last minute souvenirs.
Day 5
Return to UK.
After breakfast start your journey home.
